Take a magical trip into Hayao Miyazaki’s world in his 3D film tribute as we celebrate his 75th birthday.
A masterful storyteller of Japanese animation and co-founder of Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki just celebrated his 75th birthday yesterday and it is never too late for us to appreciate the five decades of his career, creating the mind blowing heartening movies to touch our inner child’s soul. As Miyazaki once said, “Is someone different at age 18 or 60? I believe one stays the same.” He proves that age is not a limit to one’s imagination as he continued to produced and directed many feature film even after he announced his sixth retirement attempt in 2014, there will be upcoming new project for his first CGI Animation called, Kemushi no Boro (“Boro the Caterpillar”) that will be screen exclusively in Studio Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo.
While we are basking in celebration, let’s take a delightful little trip into Miyazaki’s world in this 3-D Film Tribute that features Ghibli’s character that we loved. There is something truly magical seeing all of these characters in three dimensional way.
Another cult favourite is Spirited Away, one of his biggest commercial to date and the first anime film to win American Academy Award. Story of a girl, forced to survive in a bizarre spirit world, who works in a bathhouse for spirits after her parents are turned into pigs by the sorceress who owns it. The fact that Spirited Away was created without script will leave you speechless. (Text Saskia Chairunnisa)
