In collaboration with surrealist visual artist Philippa Price, Stella McCartney debuts a creepy new fashion film.
A little clown-like cynicism here and there, an amalgam of eerie, kitschy and quirky all at one, as well child-like ironies could best describe Stella MCCartney’s latest fashion film. The weird and wonderful hodgepodge of high fashion, unsettling yet artistic direction opens the brand’s latest editorial series called #StellaBy.
In collaboration with surrealist visual artist Philippa Price, the film takes us to a psychedelic trip across a remote Nevadan desert (once a nuclear test site), Clown Motel, barren graveyard, where Megan Nison and Bradlye Soileau, Philippa’s very own beau, star in the film. The two can be seen frolicking, awkwardly gesturing, standing still in corners with deadpan stares in their faces and not forgetting feigned driving inside a vertically positioned car.
The film definitely gives off an unconventional look to fashion and a little bit of tang to fashion editorials. The film may bring some chills supported by their overly creepy clown themes and kooky elements. The film features the typical and lovely Stella McCartney pieces as they make their cameo in the film – the whole thought process to the film gives it a very eccentric touch, away from the seemingly typical fashion editorials we know.
