May The Fall Be With You: Star Wars XX Fall 2015 Collections by David Murray.
British illustrator David Murray has brought streetwear and sci-fi together for his latest project. Portraying a much-loved Star Wars characters, the famed artist has painted galactic personas in the full swing of contemporary fashion.
For this series, David Murray drew both old and new Star Wars characters. Filled with color and accurate logos, the paintings display artistic renderings of actual garments by each illustrated brand. In this series, onlookers are exposed to Boba Fett in Astrid Andersen, Chewbacca in furry Hood By Air, C-3PO in Dries Van Noten, Darth Maul in bright red Givenchy, Darth Vader in Craig Green, Jar Jar Binks in Yeezy and a Stormtrooper in equally monochromatic Balenciaga.
We suspect that there are more character to come. Before this series his signature is coupling renowned fashion brands with unlikely characters such as Frankenstein, Freddy Krueger, Batman’s ‘The Joker’ to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s ‘Leatherface’. And his outfit pairing are always spot on. Let’s call him a stylists to the stars, so to speak. (Text Teuku Ajie)
