Louis Vuitton’s Latest Summer Fragrances. Three new scents for lounging under the sun, strolling through gardens, and countless afternoons spent swimming.
Summer is approaching, and it’s always good to shed some sweat, but if you can afford to do it the high fashion way, then why not? Louis Vuitton, the French luxury fashion house we all know and love, has returned with three new fragrances inspired by nature, namely the sky, the gardens, and the sea; it’s the perfect dose of fresh air in a bottle. The brand describes the collection of “three sunny scents” as “luminous”, and coined the phrase “cologne perfumes” which expresses “the combination of the lightness of citrus mist and the depth of flowers”.
The fragrances were created by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, who has created or collaborated in the creation of over 80 perfumes for other fashion houses such as Givenchy, Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent. The perfumer notes that taking on the creation of fragrances is a personal challenge to him, and has a liking to use natural, rare and raw materials to make his scents. The latest ones he made for LV are said to be “perfumes of light”, basking in their natural realness, their smell bearing a strong closeness to what nature smells like.
Multimedia artist and filmmaker Alex Israel was also a big part of presenting the new line of fragrances, bringing his signature West Coast style to exude the desired summery vibe.
The three scents come in yellow, green, and blue bottles. The yellow bottle is named Sun Song, is made of orange blossom, lemon, bergamot, neroli, jasmine, and musky notes. The green bottle is Cactus Garden, which consists of an exotic tea called maté, bergamot, geranium, lemongrass, and incense. Lastly, the blue bottle is named Afternoon Swim, using bergamot, mandarin orange, ginger, and ambergris.
