Join the FKA twigs Cult in Her Enchanting New Video “holy terrain”. Visuals for the second single off the artists’ upcoming album Magdalene is out and it’s empoweringly hypnotizing.

To say that FKA twigs is slaying in her new music video for her mesmerising single “holy terrain” is an understatement. Not only is the enchanting song produced by the likes of Skrillex and Jack Antonoff and herself, but it also features Atlantan rapper Future and stunning visuals as well as choreography. Her red and blue contact-clad dragonlike eyes stare into the moving camera as she sings softly and almost hypnotically about what she’s looking for in a lover (“day one, take me to my favourite show/day two, hold my hand and hold me close”). We see her in head to toe black, moving fiercely alongside her braided backing dancers in an isolated desert, grey skies overhead — and then she’s prowling through an electric blue storm in a silky white frock, soon transitioning to gleamy red flashes of the fiery twigs cult dancing around a bonfire in the night.

The music video for “holy terrain” was directed by twigs herself and Nick Walker, with AVANTgarden collaborator Matthew Josephs as stylist, makeup by Daniel Sällström, and choreography by Tovaris Wilson and Theo Oliver.

This is the second track to be released from FKA twigs’ long-anticipated second studio LP Magdalene, a nine-track album which will finally be out on the 25th of October this year via Young Turks, the first single being “cellophane”. The album was created over the last three years across New York, London, and Los Angeles, amongst producer Nicholas Jaar and other undisclosed collaborations.

In a press release, twigs expressed that Magdalene was recorded during a period of heartbreak after she had surgery to have six tumours removed from her uterus, one that she had no idea would be “so all-encompassing”; “I never thought that my body could stop working to the point that I couldn’t express myself physically in the ways that I have always loved and found so much solace.”
