Inspired by a desire to control lighting and energy, Iris van Herpen use these two elements for her starting point of this spring couture collection. Then she started exploring the sense of electrifying and transformed it into 11 different garments. Herpen’s who loves to play around with 3 dimensional print and pattern use the recent innovation to create marvelous garments.
This season she collaborates with artists, architects, and researchers such as Carlos Van Camp, Phillip Beesley in order to produce fascinating garment that include the reaction of chemistry and electricity.
All the garments looks like a living sculpture that is standing in the center of this couture runway. The design pieces represent its collection that is called Voltage by showing the interaction of electricity to the human body. Herpen’s never disappointed its audience, especially this couture season. She really shows her talent and its innovation through the fashion world. (Text Dinta Jakile)
