The time has come to apply for the 29th Edition of the prestigious Hyères Fashion and Photography Festival, we highlights the 10 finalists nominated by this year’s jury to participate in the annual celebration of fashion and photography.
As a proving ground responsible for discovering young artists and an international launch pad since 1997, Hyères is responsible each year for uniting and introducing ten fashion designers and ten photographers, under the patronage of juries representative of both fields.
Originally created by Jean Pierre Blanc, this year’s festival will be presided by jury heads Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, Creative Directors at Kenzo since 2011 and founders of brand and concept store, Opening Ceremony. Joining the pair on January 22 to make the initial selections were American actress Chloë Sevigny; Carol Song, head buyer at Opening Ceremony; Jay Massacret, editor in chief of VMan; and Eric Wilson, Fashion Director at InStyle USA among other personalities that will join the team during the Festival. From an original selection of 312 applications, 45 candidates were selected of which a further 10 have now been invited to present their work individually in three identical fashion shows at Villa Noailles in April. The event will be open to professionals and the public over the course of three days. (Text Teuku Ajie)
