ARA x AlvinT Celebrates Independence Day Through Unique Collaboration. When local materials and original design were showcased to re-interpret the Indonesian unique retail space.
Indonesia’s 72nd Independence Day celebration was not only a celebration of unity and nationalism but it gave us all the chance to embrace in our differences of industries, passions and interests. ARA in Colony, Kemang, South Jakarta celebrated the day by inviting a very special friend, Alvin Tjitrowirjo with his furniture label, AlvinT, to re-interpret the retail space.
The ambiance and setting were created in such a way that would feel very serene and local. Signatures furniture from AlvinT such as chairs made of materials such as rattan and wood coupled with silhouettes of sand dunes were showcased in corners of the space. The unique and local touch of AlvinT’s furniture highlights the uniqueness of each of the designers of ARA.
ARA’s designer founders namely Friederich Herman, Peggy Hartanto and TOTON also took part in the celebration by creating a collaborative limited-edition shirt, sold both in stores and online. Other creative brands such as East Java & Co Fine Foods and Ombe Koffie were invited by offering some of their local and quality produce.
The collaboration is hoped to further elevate the quality and reputation of local brands in Indonesia. As individuals in the creative industries, ARA x AlvinT’s is a proof to Indonesia’s unique, unconventional and genuine creative industries that prove themselves capable of not only working hand in hand but also become on par to the global stage.
