A Glimpse Into the Simone Rocha x H&M Collection. The day when you can finally get your hands on a Simone Rocha piece is almost here!
It’s no secret that the Simone Rocha x H&M collaboration is something that had all of us on the edge of our seats. The Irish designer will be releasing a full collection of womenswear, also her first menswear and childrenswear line-up with the Swedish retailer.
“Simone has such a unique and special aesthetic. Season on season, she defines her identity. This feels like the perfect collection for this moment; a dynamic proposition from a female designer with such a clear sense of who she is, and what she wants to say. It is a joyful collection, that will hopefully enliven spirits and inspire,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor in H&M.
The collection will feature pieces that’s perfect for any occasion; be it romantic tulle dresses for intimate ceremonies, or cosy cardigans and comfort knits for your stay-at-home days. In each piece, you can see the signature Rocha touch of femininity, the perfect mix of traditional ladylike elements balanced with a cool-girl edge. Although the H&M collaboration is meant to be a more adaptable and wearable version of Simone Rocha, the signature Rocha touches of classical detailing and voluminous silhouettes are evident in the line.
For her first men’s collection, she decided to take on classic menswear pieces with a Rocha twist — the pearl-lined trench coat being the best example of this. Asides from that, the more casual menswear pieces from the collection also feature photographs from her long-term creative collaborator, Jacob Lillis. Meanwhile, for her debut childrenswear line, Rocha created miniature editions of her signature pieces including adorable smock dresses for the little ones.
Rocha aims for the collection to be able to tell a new audience about who she is, and also let these first-timers experience the enchanting feeling you get when you wear a Simone Rocha. In a statement she says, “I hope that the items in this collection will be worn and treasured for years to come. They were all informed by ideas and inspirations that have shaped me and my brand over the last 10 years, and I am so excited to see them worn out-and-about and interpreted and styled in new ways.”
The full collection will be available online in March 11th on hm.com. (Text Vanya Harapan)
